General
What is an environmental permit and who issues it?
An environmental permit is a qualification certificate issued by the National Center for Environmental Compliance through consultancies it has accredited — Arbon is one of them. We review the facility's environmental classification form, prepare the required environmental studies and follow the application through until the permit is issued.
Do you renew environmental permits for existing facilities?
Yes. We handle both new permits and renewals, including the environmental measurements the Center requires at renewal for the facility's classification.
Which environmental measurements might my facility need?
It depends on the facility's classification and activity, and can include air quality, emissions, noise and water. We identify the measurements you need, carry them out and prepare the reports for the Center.
Which quality certifications do you prepare facilities for?
We prepare facilities for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22000 and ISO 17025, and for the HACCP food-safety system.
Where is your office and which cities do you serve?
Our office is on Prince Majed bin Abdulaziz Street in Al Khobar, and we serve facilities in Dammam, Dhahran, Jubail, Al-Ahsa and across the Kingdom.
Environmental Permits
Can any consultancy obtain an environmental permit?
No. Permits are obtained through consultancies accredited by the National Center for Environmental Compliance, and Arbon is one of them.
What decides which studies my facility needs?
The facility's environmental classification, based on its activity and how much impact it has. We establish it with you at the start, after reviewing the classification form.
Do you follow up on renewal after the permit is issued?
Yes. We handle the renewal, including the measurements it requires, and start preparing well before the permit expires.
Environmental Consulting
When do I need an environmental impact assessment?
It depends on the project's environmental classification and impact; some activities need a detailed study before a permit is issued. We determine this with you after reviewing the project.
Can you help a facility that has received an environmental violation?
Yes. We review the violation and its causes, prepare a corrective plan and support the facility in responding to the regulator.
Is consulting only tied to getting a permit?
No — many clients ask for audits and periodic follow-up to stay compliant throughout operation.
Environmental Measurements
Do I need measurements when renewing a permit?
Usually yes — the Center asks for up-to-date measurements at renewal, depending on the facility's classification.
What if the results exceed the permitted limits?
The report identifies the source and proposes remediation measures, and we re-measure once they are in place.
Do you carry out measurements outside Al Khobar?
Yes — in Dammam, Dhahran, Jubail, Al-Ahsa and across the Eastern Province and the Kingdom.
ISO Certificates
Does Arbon issue the ISO certificate itself?
No. The certificate is issued by an accredited certification body after its audit; our role is to prepare the facility to pass that audit.
Which ISO standard suits my facility?
ISO 9001 suits most organisations; 14001, 45001 or 22000 are added depending on the activity and client requirements. We help you choose.
Can several standards be implemented together?
Yes — an integrated management system can combine quality, environment and safety in one framework.
HACCP System
What is the difference between HACCP and ISO 22000?
HACCP is a method for controlling food hazards; ISO 22000 is a full management system that includes the HACCP principles and adds management and continual-improvement requirements.
Do you work with small restaurants?
Yes. We size the HACCP plan to the facility and its activity, without complexity it does not need.
What does your HACCP work include?
Hazard analysis, the HACCP plan and records, staff training, and an internal audit before the certification body's audit.
